Australia cultivates its first white truffle (Tuber borchii)
Victorian farmer and president of the Australian Truffle Growers Association, Dr Peter Stahle has grown the first rare white truffle in Australia.
Stahle‚Äôs quest to grow the prized truffle began seven years ago when he inoculated the roots of a specific pine tree ‘hosts’ on his farm with the spores of the white truffle, Tuber borchii.
